I sent the following text message to a friend, not so much to console her, as to console myself:

She responded with the following:
“Julian of Norwich was hallucinating in her tiny cell and anorexic probably. But if that is what it takes to have a good attitude….”
This is why one must have friends. She knows what I need.

I just took a tour of a waste water treatment plant. I’ll go on record and tell you that that is definitely not what you need. It’s a bit like the old joke about eating a live frog first thing every morning. The rest of the day will always be an improvement.
